Recent advancements in the area of deep learning have led to a rapidly increasing usage of deep neural networks in the processing and classification of medical data. We review the utilization of modern preprocessing techniques in deep feature recognition and their effectiveness on performance as applied to classification of  diabetic retinopathy.
